I watched an Uber driver drop off food at someone's front door...

then get back in his car and drive off.
What a poor business model. Surely they can knock and let the person know their food is here?
Seems like we, the public are allowing reduced service.
I suppose that the recipient can track when the driver has arrived?

That's beoming common with contract delivery drivers.

They are given far too many deliveries in far too short a time, for poor pay. There is no incentive for them to deliver any sort of service, so they just drop the goods at what they think is the right address (often, the wrong one), and drive away.

The customer cannot track them, and can only sit and wait, hoping the deliverer will ring the doorbell.

@ArishMell If that is the case, and a food delivery never turned up, then never use that service again.

@Gusman Exactly. The food deliverers in my area seem good - at least I have never heard of complaints. The real villains are the huge, non-food courier companies.
