What "society"? In normal society, a woman can date or marry whoever she wants. A man who is threatened by that is not a man.

They are power hungry.

But there are places that are not like that. At least, not specifically toward women.

I stand back, I like women and like them doing whatever they want to do.

women date and marry whoever they want in this country. at least in the circles that i travel. of course, i dont run with the crowd that does arranged marriages and such.

Because marriage is beneficial to men ,it provides them with free domestic and emotional labour (cleaning,cooking, etc.) and then if children are involved there's the caretaking on top of that which is,again, usually assigned to women.
