Yea in an effort to minimize the buying power of workers and the electorate the government has ceased minting new Pennies. Inflation will be worse and profits more. The intention is to force all purchasing to be done with interest charged (purchased by credit card). The result will be interest based Financing loans and debt! Welcome to Trumps America

Here in Oz we did away with 1 and 2 cent coins years ago... To the better... They just clog up the system and cost a fortune to make and circulate

@Convivial Our petrol filling stations still advertise prices to one tenth of a penny which used to perturb me greatly as a child. Of course, the fraction is always rounded up rather than down 😕

@SunshineGirl is do too... But most people use EFTPOS or a digital payment system so the subject doesn't really arise
Yeah, well if I pay cash for something that's say £19.99, I always say keep the change or put it in their charity box.

I encourage the children in our family to save all loose change in their money boxes. We have hours of fun counting them up and slowing down queues in the bank when we pay them in 😊

Lots of places don't give me my pennies back anymore. It's cool though, my daughter doesn't even want them, lol.
