The hood has been using that term for the last twenty years.I used to be head of safety, security and transportation at a low income school.It's been around for a long time.

I hear it in a lot of like body cam videos on YouTube that I might watch. Some guys getting arrested and every other word is bruh this, bruh that, I'm finna do this or do that.

First off, the word is "gonna" not finna. I started seeing it and then hearing it.

But bro is fine, don't care much for bruh to be honest.

I listen to my young coworkers say it 1000x an hour. But I remember saying dude, and still do say dude sometimes lol

I have also heard the word brill going around. Short for brilliant

My 4 year old nephew says it all the time to me… And in casual conversation.

Bro used to be a thing we all said growing up, then it changed to dude, then man, then idk what came after that… it constantly changed..

Haha, yeah I hear them saying this all the time. It makes me feel old lol!

Only guy I ever heard say "Bro" a lot was on sports talk radio about 25 years ago; a late middle-aged white guy called everyone "Bro."
