My therapist mentioned the conditioning of men through patriarchal influence

It raises men to focus on the idea of weakness, physical, mental and emotional.
If I can't lift this thing I'm weak and don't fit what I've been told Is a man
If I can't answer or fix everything I'm not a man
if I have moments of vulnerability I'm not a man and I'm weak.

It creates a cycle of shame and isolation for being human and not a fictional superhero 24/7 for your entire life. Men hide their struggles, are told without words to not speak out, told to make others feel safe without ever feeling it themselves, but we were all children born with these same needs. For real, sometimes I want a partner who makes me feel safe 🤷 and be interested in me and not the image I show to the world.

if you are struggling get help, express yourself, do what you would for you as a kid now. Draw a line in the toxic cycle of unrealistic expectations placed by dated generational values, societal influence, introjected values and conditions of worth. Do it for you for a change.
