I come from a generation where manners were taught and mandatory. I've long been a person that, as long as you treat me with respect, you'll get the same in return. But talk down to me or be condescending and you'll get it thrown back at you threefold. I have zero tolerance for rude, ignorant people. There was a time when I was young where I tried never to offend anyone no matter how they treated me. Many times that got me treated worse. Once you firmly stand up for yourself, most people will either treat you right or avoid you because they know you won't take any of their bullshit.
Life gets much easier when the idiots and the mannerless know to avoid you.
