I refuse to endorse gender pronouns

Even the bullshit she/her ones similar to the he/him ones that men are pushed to use to 'identify' their 'gender'.

So I refuse to endorse gender pronouns - they are used by people who are mentally deficient.

You have every right to feel the way the you feel.

As far as myself, personally, I'm no doctor I cannot speak to anyone's mental health, however I do believe in human kindness, showing everyone respect because I feel that every adult has to the right to live however they see fit. If I don't give another human being anything else, I will always give them respect. But that's just me.

For example, I hate being called Miss/Mrs/Ms Charlton. Especially 'ms'. as that directly implies mental incapacity to 'presume' a single women of mature age is a 'ms'. Maybe I should put a fake wedding ring on and then everyone will look at my hand and presume I'm a 'mrs'. ewww
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@butterflybaby75 I get you. I hate it too but it's so normalized that I don't even know what else to use. I'm usually referred to as mrs even if I'm single. I guess people rather use it by the age I look than marital status. Ms is for teens and girls in their early 20s, anything past that sounds ridiculous.
Anyway, I remember when I started shifting from ms to mrs and it made me feel old. 😅 Also, a word for random woman is "aunty" here which when I got referred to with around 20, all my hair stood up. Excuse me? Aunty?
You understand that "he" and "she" are gender pronouns, right?

I personally would like to get rid of them and use non-gendered pronouns as in Bengali, Farsi, Anishinaabemowin and many other sensible languages, but I'm not sure if that is what you had in mind.
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
@ThePatientAnarchist that would be ideal. I have no problem with how anyone lives their life but the amount of pronouns out there is a bit much. I think gender equality has bigger fish to fry and went after small details instead. Personally, I don’t give a damn what anyone calls me. Just let me be who I am and respect that!

I think it's just common decency and there's a lot of science to validate trans people.

Regsrdless, if I knew you as a woman and someone came up to me to ask where you were and I referred to you as him to say he's over there, you'd be mad. You'd say but I'm female and I'd say well no that's a mental disorder and I refuse your pronouns.

I think it costs nothing to be respectful of people and if it costs nothing but you're making it out to be a big deal, you might as well be narcissistic. It's highly likely you have a shade of that going on and I know that toxic people are going to be toxic regardless. But it's a good indicator of your character and would know what to expect from you.
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
@SatanBurger that part ☝

You're absolutely correct. People have no human decency. They are always trying to dictate how others should exist. Everyone should be able to exist without hatred & judgment. Homophobia is just a cousin of Racism in my eyes.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@AngelUnforgiven Yup and it doesn't hurt anyone to refer to people how they want anyways. To act like it physically hurts one's self to do so is just wild. The only types of people I know to deny other's existences and just have that amount of manipulator victimology going on are full on narcissists.
goliathtree · 56-60, M
they are an unnecessary and unprofessional distraction on many of the business emails I get. I don't care if you identify as a toaster, it does not need to be in your signature line.

(I know what I am, you should too)

@MaBalzEsHari there are many valid points here. I know people don’t want to hear them but I truly think it’s part of the reason we’re in the mess we’re in. I don’t think people need to keep things to themselves as we all want to celebrate love and happiness. I do question the expectations tho. I would never go to a foreign country and expect them to learn my language. That being said, the lack of acceptance by others is what usually brings this on, whether it be race, gender, sexual preference, etc. Sometimes we have no choice but swing the pendulum to the extreme just to hope for it landing in the middle.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
My friend is trans. Was a guy when i first k ew him
Got reassignment surgery and now is a "girl". I am having problems with the changes but gradually Jeff is becoming Jazz.
I'm really having a Poe's Law moment here.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@BohemianBabe They have another post that is anti lgbt.
@SatanBurger Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I was so curious, I checked her profile. But a transphobe saying she doesn't want to use pronouns? This is literally like when Herschel Walker complained that they're bringing pronouns into the military. I don't know, maybe she has the same brain damage.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@BohemianBabe They have a few posts looking at women and their privates, there are terfs and stuff who like the same gender but dislike the trans community. They don't all identify as terfs or know what that word is nor may subscribe to anti trans feminism but they are personality wise in some aspects at least. But this user also has a few posts making fun of single moms and saying it's all women's fault in relationships. They do it in more of a "polite" way but it is thinly veiled right wing content.

I have come to the conclusion that it's either a simple minded troll, a male conservative which would be hilarious considering this post is about refusing to use pronouns and to identify as female is ironic considering or a female slightly conservative poster who is probably terf minded.

But then of course brain damage is the simplest answer and they say the simplest is probably most likely true.

YoMomma ·
I personally don't mind people having a gender 😒
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
@YoMomma genders are male or female. not he/him/she/her/they/them/ze/zis/etc.
YoMomma ·
@butterflybaby75 references to gender 🙂
Tumbleweed · F

CrazyMusicLover · 31-35

So, we just call you "it" from now on?
Ok, then don't use them. What will you use? Their name each time you'd want to refer to them?
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
@greensnacks Yes. when I talk to someone I use their real name and if I don't know what that is I politely ask what it is. Gender pronouns are not part of a person's name and are 'made up' titling.
@butterflybaby75 so you basically talk like this:

"Me and Sarah went walking the other day. The nature was wonderful and me and Sara saw a ton of ducks. The ton of ducks were playing in the water, jumping and fishing and feeding the babies. Me and Sarah called Jen to tell Jen about the fun day at the park and the ducks. Jen said that sounds like a wonderful time spent and that we should've invited Jen to come with us. Me and Sarah said we are sorry, we didn't think of inviting Jen because Jen was preparing Jen's wedding and Me and Sarah though Jen would be busy "

Fun

Call everyone «it»

Is it a guy? It.
Is it a gal? It.
Is it a dog? It.
Is it neither? It.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Elessar Google translate doesn't recognize. 😆
Elessar · 26-30, M
@CrazyMusicLover Because we don't really have K. Try "canapa" 😅
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Elessar Aaaah, makes sense. 😆 Konope here.
