Omg! 🤯 mind blowing idea!

Why do we got to the gym when we could be turning a crank shaft!?

Turn all the repetitive motion and resistance into watts!

Almost any gym equipment could just be added to a generator. Before a stair master thete was the human hamsterwheel! Same thing!

I thought this a while back but then I saw on TV an experiment where it took something like 40 cyclists to power an electric oven to cook some meat. It was like that scene from Ben Hur where the slaves are all locked to their oars as the ships sail into battle; everybody was sweating, muscles and veins looked fit to burst and some people had to stop before they keeled over. Anyway apparently a cyclist can generate 50 to 300w so at a guess maybe 300w/hr would probably power your laptop for 3-4 hours.

@GeniUs As far back as WW2 the military had a thing called a "pedal radio" with a generator with two handles rigged similar to bicycle pedals that one man cranked slowly to generate enough power to run a radio, used to report shipping and troop movements..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Never saw one of those but used a megger a number of times mostly for electrocuting people for fun but also for it's intended purpose too! Clockwork as a power source was so quickly forgotten when Trevor Bayliss 'invented' the clockwork radio he was hailed as an inventor, became rich and knighted! I don't want to belittle any part of what he did but he just put two old ideas together. Having said that it created a wave of clockwork and hand electricity generated pieces of equipment, so he woke the world back up to this power source.

@GeniUs So many "inventions" are just applications of old ideas to new purposes..😷

I think it'll be done at one point.. Brilliant idea.. Why don't you begin a startup

In the movie "Soylent Green" Charlton Heston pedals a modified exercise Bike hooked up to a generator to charge a battery to read by..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman There's also a similar thing in one of the many War of the World clones (long time ago can't remember what it was called, might have been British the production quality wasn't great!)
