What's something about the US that is totally normal to a US citizen, that Europeans can't seem to wrap their heads around?

That sales tax is added at the till rather than shown as the price of the product.

Admittedly easy to get used to but confused the heck out of me at first.

@JonUK41 That is becoming increasingly common in the UK too, especially for online retail. I've no problem with providing factual information, so long as it does not trick the consumer into believing that a product costs less than it actually does.

@SunshineGirl That's just been made illegal. Not sure when it kicks in, but in future the price advertised must include all compulsory charges. I'm sure the snakes will find a way to wriggle around the law, though.
