Target is trying to play both side of the fence with this DEI stuff now that another boycott starts.

First they sell LGBT clothes for kids. Then they roll back DEI policies. Well NOW, they are trying to create a "sense of belonging". They are trying to appease the extreme Left and the extreme Right at the same time. 😄

Here is part of that article.

On January 24, days into Donald Trump’s presidency, Target announced it was eliminating hiring goals for minority employees, ending an executive committee focused on racial justice and making other changes to its diversity initiatives. Target said it had a new strategy called “Belonging at the Bullseye,” which it first introduced last year, and the company remained committed to “creating a sense of belonging for our team, guests and communities.” Target also stressed the need for “staying in step with the evolving external landscape.”

Target exists because people hate going into Walmart. That sums up 90 percent of their existence.

@MayorOfCrushtown So you'd think they'd lean into that identity and be everything people want to see who hate Walmart. And I know Walmart hates diversity, equity, and inclusion.

@MayorOfCrushtown Yeah, sometimes I guess people would prefer to pay more just to avoid chaotic BS. You have a point there.

I am one of those "bargain shoppers" myself so yeah I h4te walmart as much as anyone but since it is less expensive.

@LordShadowfire I have never seen nor heard anything about walmart's stances on such things.
Not saying it doesn't exist though.

Usually what shows up on my phone is about the latest scandal of Target or how Aldi thinks it is a real store now. 😄

@Punches Yeah. I am not happy with myself for it, but I use their curbside service. I get Walmart prices without dealing with the Walmart customers, but I'm still giving money to Walmart. ☹

But yeah. Just Google "Walmart CEO politics".

@MayorOfCrushtown I basically can't afford to base my shopping choices around which grocery stores have a good take on current events or which ones treat their employees well. I feel crappy about it, but honestly, my choices are limited. There's Walmart, who are rolling back their DEI program, and then there's Target, who are rolling back their DEI program, and then there's Fred Meyer (Kroger), who are already on everybody's naughty list for how they treat unions. I don't know about Safeway, but I'm sure there's something wrong with them. I'm just surrounded by evil corporations, and have to do business with them.
@LordShadowfire I don’t know about Aldi and Lidl politics, but their prices are low.
