Target announces scaleback of DEI.

Not long ago, weren't they big supporters of DEI, LGBT?

It's just funny how quickly companies flip flop with their support.
Of course some anti-DEI people will be proudly shopping there in support, forgetting what happened yesteryear...

What they NEED to scale back on are their prices.

There's a lesson in all this. Most companies don't do things because they believe it's right, they do it to garner investor attention. CEOs of public companies are above all salespeople. They say what the market wants to hear, hoping pension fund invest, pushing the stock, and making the stockholders (and the CEO) wealthier. If you can't push the EPS up fast enough, you sell them on the future (the EPS multiple) and viola the executive gets wealthier.

@DownTheStreet Target seems to chomp at the bit when it comes to saying what they think everyone wants to hear.

Costco is still pushing dei.
Wont shop there , sold my stock
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Patriot96 What happens when Costco jumps on the anti DEI bandwagon?
They just say and do whatever is politically correct out of fear of being "cancelled".
CestManan · 46-50, F
@MsSwan They seem to be the loudest about it though.

GOD DAMN IT!

Where the hell am I supposed to shop?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@CestManan Yeah, but now I'm not supposed to do my grocery shopping at Walmart, not supposed to do my grocery shopping at Target, and I'm running out of places. Safeway better not jump on the Trump bandwagon.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@LordShadowfire Wait, hold it, Safeway still exists?

Ya know though, there are people who shop because of emotions, or where some company pretends to stand politically, or the do-gooders...

Me, I just go where things are the best value, best bang for the buck.

Heck man, most places that are really loud with their virtue-signaling are often the most expensive.

I get what you are saying though, it's like, "don't shop here, don't shop there, they are communists, they are woke, they discriminate, they sell Chinese goods, they are (bad in whatever ways).

Then there are local markets which charge more than the wages of sin for their goods.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@CestManan I mean, honestly, Walmart is objectively awful, but I'll probably keep going back to them until there's a woke option that doesn't charge out the yin yang.

But yeah, Safeway still exists in Oregon, at any rate.
