Conservatives pushed this talking point hard. It's an issue created by them to rally the morality nuts around after they lost the debate on gay marriage.
They need scapegoats and moral panics. Fear and a falling sky is all they have. They rally around fear and purity since they have nothing of substance in their doctrine.

@MethDozer what can you expect from this government? There were many who were happy when they said there was more than two genders and life kept going right? The government was still corrupt, and capitalism was at an all time high….
Same today except now there are only two genders as stated by the president.
