how do you handle uncertainty

i think we are entering an uncertain period in society, in the world- at the moment....a fork in the road possibly, and there's one thing i can't stand is uncertainty, it drives me barmy and fills me with anxiety...for my peace of mind i need to have certainty, knowing that things will work out alright in the end? but that's not present now, its an uncertain dark period we're entering.

Uncertainty of the scale you are talking about, I agree with @whowasthatmaskedman. The corollary to Santayana's rule that those who ignore history will have to relive it is: history reminds us that this craziness, too, will pass.

On a more day-to-day personal level, turn to the Serenity Prayer. Deal with what you have control over, find distractions to ignore the rest.
