who my parents expected and who i turned out to be

[media=https://tiktok.com/7430796236065754399]

my dad moreso. he took classes when he learned he was having a daughter so hed know how to do my hair, isnt that so sweet? he loves me for who i turned out to be. i think if i came out to him he would be supportive, although he's not to keen on the gays last i recall. my mom was always very clear on her support.. "one day if you have a boyfriend... or girlfriend..."

i wish i had embraced my femininity when i was small (i understand now it was never about the glitter)
We all learn, and all you can do is reflect upon those meanings you wished you had learned when you were younger. I have my lists of what I wish I had been able to express more. I'm a man, but with some effeminate parts of myself, and now I just place those learnings to lives lived and learning. When my nephew came out as gay, let's say I was not surprised, and he had looked to me for sensitivity and emotional support before.

What I guess I am getting at, it took me a long time to accept myself emotionally. That's somethinbg glitter doesn't help but maybe helped you on your way?

@thewindupbirdchronicles i love that we continue to grow~ very proud of you to have accepted yourself and for being a safe space for your nephew. and other people you may not even realize.
@Frostcloud Thank you, Im sure you have the same growth in yourself, acceptance, and those who you help. I'm so sure of this.

Are you too old to change ?
I don't think so:)
My deepest new year's 2024 resolution was to "meet with my female power" as I too took the long run, in order to accept who and what I truly am..

@being its never too late and over the last couple years ive started to make small changes to come closer to how i feel like i can best represent myself. its just hard to wear clothes youve never worn before

@Frostcloud oh I understand... There's middle ground 😉 don't push yourself to what feels uncomfortable, rather choose what can feel good 😊
