Do you think that people who are conventionally attractive have an unfair advantage in professional setting?

As someone who got labeled with the concept of “pretty privilege.” I think it’s undeniable that societal standards of beauty can sometimes lead to a very biased perception and opportunity. Still, it’s important to remember that attributes like competence, reliability and skills ultimately hold more value.

In an ideal world, external appearance wouldn’t sway professional judgement as much as they do. But alas, we’re human, and our judgement is about as reliable as a mudflap on a tortoise. 🦧

It’s a mixed bag. Professionally speaking, sometimes an attractive person is pushed forward to represent a business publicly when they would much rather work behind the scenes.

And whatever advantages an attractive person may receive, in business and personally, there’s always the question of what they may be asked to do in return for such consideration.
