As someone who got labeled with the concept of “pretty privilege.” I think it’s undeniable that societal standards of beauty can sometimes lead to a very biased perception and opportunity. Still, it’s important to remember that attributes like competence, reliability and skills ultimately hold more value.
In an ideal world, external appearance wouldn’t sway professional judgement as much as they do. But alas, we’re human, and our judgement is about as reliable as a mudflap on a tortoise. 🦧
