Diversity in Dawlish
This week I had a pleasant late summer excursion to the seaside resort of Dawlish, on the south coast of Devon. In Dawlish Water (a park that bisects the town centre) there is a lovely collection of waterfowl, including 15 breeds of ducks from across the world, five breeds of geese, and the famous Dawlish black swans. Many of the ducks live in a single enclosure and, in spite of originating from three different continents and being all different shapes, sizes, and colours, seemed to rub along quite nicely (if a little noisily).
