Is it me or do you notice this as well?

Leaving the nest in 2024 for some might not be the best idea.

Which makes me realize that introverts know the deal since we are deep thinkers.

I consider myself to be more introverted than extroverted. The reason why I asked if anyone ever realized there is because there was a saying about leaving the nest to start your own life/family but with the inflation of things going up. Leaving the nest back then might of been possible. But considering it now is kind of ironic at this point that most people are actually considering on going back home.

What a lot of people won't tell you is.....many Hispanics have generations living in one household playing a role in helping around the house whether it is cooking, cleaning, paying bills, or taking care of one another and living a close proximity of one another. Some families want to kick their children out when they are 18 years old but the parent is the same one needing help and asking for money.

I think the notion of getting kicked out at 18 should fade away. Typically and when I was growing up and currently, after high school you went to college...whether at a dorm or local and stayed home, you got a good job after that...could even be out of state...got a girlfriend/boyfriend, got an apartment and started your own life. BUT...apartment rent is as high as a mortgage today and a house is just too expensive so you have to save for a downpayment....about 10 years....
So yeah...things have changed...mainly the ECONOMY....prices are out of control.
I live in a nice house....we paid $103,000 back in 1986...it's 3000 sq ft and valued at $900,000 now.
How can a young couple get going these days....so stay with parents if it can be worked out.

@Midlifemale inflation is at its peak and economies worldwide are heading for a disaster as the governments have lost control of the economies and it's free run.

It was not worth to hold properties for long. Even now you should sell your property and buy 2 or 3 apartments which can be easier for the young to buy.

Else the 900000 is just notional estate and not real estate.

The old generation want to live for their pride with accumulated wealth depriving the new generation their growth.

Sounds legitimate, i'm however oblivious to how things are for others, just that it would be a better world if families would be more for the general good than whatever suits each member selfishly.

That is very true times changed and families have changed

Many variations in circumstances and needs..
I wonder the same.
