When a man you've been knowing for a while greets you with "hey you" what does it mean?

It means that you are reading way too much into a simple greeting.

He doesn't remember your name

Don’t know about other people, but I use that phrase when it’s been a while since I’ve talked to someone. Could just as easily mean hey…you.

Interesting when normal greetings become cryptic suddenly.

What do you want it to mean?

He is a russian spy.

He likes you!

It's a normal greeting to a freindly person.

Do you like him he might be trying to flirt or he might just get me giving you a greeting to get your reaction. Don't read too much or too little into it. Quit trying to judge everybody based on just their language and actions.

It's just a familiar fond greeting. I have friends/acquaintances do this all the time.
