Madison Marsh, US Air Force officer crowned as 2024 Miss America

While I don't pay too much attention to these types of pageants, I am thankful that it was an actual woman that won the title of Miss America.

I saw that!! she is beautiful. a second lieutenant I believe. My granddaughter is in the Air Force which makes it more special.

@akindheart Yes, she is beautiful. (and the Air Force was my first choice for enlistment also.)

@MarineBob well i am sure they knew she was in the running and it does make the AF look good. so I don't begrudge her. my granddaughter is being deployed to Saudia Arabia soon

@akindheart Yes, it's 6 years, but it's not as long as you think. If they haven't changed it, it's 4 years active duty and 2 years reserve duty after you complete your active duty.

@akindheart Like I stated, they may have changed it, but it used to be 4 active and 2 reserve. Of course, the way the world is going, it might be 6 active now.

@IM5688 i don't think she thought it through. she said she wanted to serve her country but she found a man in the AF and they got married. now she is being deployed
