Well, well... and here's me thinking he epitomised the Great American Dream based on making oodles of money.
I do wonder if a lot of Americans dislike Bill Gates out of both envy (of his money) and for his Foundation working to help people in the developing countries.
At least that land and those shares are in his own country and industries. For much of the 20C, and still now, American businesses were ruthlessly buying other countries' companies and assets, sometimes to take the intellectual property and break the physical assets up for quick sale; while trying to impose its own way of life on those lands.
