I need emotional support rather than financial

My parents provide me financial support and I'm grateful for that but that has only kept me dependent on them.

I'm sure they have wanted to see me independent for a long time but I just haven't been able to become it. I want to become independent for my sake and theirs.

I just don't know how to communicate to them that I need more emotional support/encouragement than financial.
