will a cashless society happen anytime soon

nigel farage is reporting about the 'push for a cashless society' by the banks in his latest video....and i hope it doesn't happen as physical cash is very important to me, these bastards best not bring in a cashless society, does anyone fear it will happen soon?

or is it just fake news and propaganda?
