Working class families

Are you perhaps a marxist who was spoiled rotten by middle class priviliges? I'm not, because I'm atleast a seventh generation working class person. Takes a lot to say that, but I've said it. And I'm proud to be that. Religious, royalist, christian democrat, and low paid librarian with dyslexia :)

I grew up in poverty and still am not rich or anywhere near well off and i'm marxist.

There may be marxists who grew up priviledged but that shouldn't invalidate their positions either. After all Engels was really wealthy and caring about others and being critical of a system shouldn't depend on ones own position in society.

@BritishFailedAesthetic good thing that hell doesn’t exist 😉

@Gloomy In capitalism, there are all sorts of cooperative personal and business structures that squeeze out the greed incentives. There is no mandatory government structure for a corporation, cooperative or partnership. That's the beauty of economic self determination, we are free to cooperate with one another as we wish. Like most of my insurance is via profit-share cooperatives. The very idea that I can quit the coop and go elsewhere for my insurance is part f the motivation for an efficient operation. Policy holders vote on the board of directors. I also live in a condo, which has a governing board and rules agreed on by all the homeowners. If we want to change the rules we simply have to convince our neighbors.

The idea that capitalism is a greed monster that exploits the individual is poppy-cock. It's about cooperative endeavors. Corporations are but big partnerships where stockholders are free to buy or sell their interest in the corporation. Very few businesses are privately owned, even fewer are individually owned.

Why are you low paid? You should make more money. Libraries are important.
Renaci · 36-40
@CountScrofula Not in America at least.
helenS · 36-40, F
I'm not a Marxist (as opposed to some of my friends), but I take the writings of
Dr. Marx very seriously.
Brasceo · 41-45, M
@helenS you should take his writings serious because they are dangerous and leads a trail of millions of dead people
helenS · 36-40, F
@Brasceo When I read a book about classical mechanics, I will probably not be concerned about the fact that the Russian government uses classical mechanics to calculate the trajectories of projectiles which Russia is using to kill innocent people in Ukraine.

My early childhood was in a slum, then a council house.

The only prejudice I had was from my first fiancées father.

Thankfully this attitude has past.

TheunderdogofNY · 36-40, M
Middle class? That’s a funny joke. I didn’t grow up anywhere near that.
DDonde · 31-35, M
Is your work secure?
val70 · 51-55
@DDonde Nope!
I come from a family of British near nobility, my Great Grandfather was practically disowned when his two newspapers in Wyoming failed due to advertising drying up during the great depression. He learned rather quickly how fast capitalists turn on those that don't succeed in business, and that blood kin means nothing to them.
