Do you turn on the lights with your curtains open at night?

I'd feel creeped out that someone was watching me like in the movies. I see this sometimes when I'm out at night. Seeing folk sitting at the table eating at night with all the lights on. Seeing folk on their exercise bike by the window. I never do this.

Do you do this?

In Amsterdam, no one seems to care about open windows. I would walk by homes along the sidewalks next to the canals looking through the windows. They don't seem to care about being seen by passersby a couple of feet on the other side of the glass pane. I was taken aback when I saw a woman in her underwear, panty and bra, all dolled up, sitting on a chair, smoking a cigarette. The next window was the same scene: another woman, voluptuous and alluring looking out into the street at me. What's wrong with these people? Or are we Americans inhibited and not progressive like them folks in Europe?

@sree251 Are you sure that you were not in the Red Light district?

😀
sree251 · 41-45, M
@SW-User I wouldn't know what district it was. Europeans are a whole different kettle of fish. Compared to them, we Americans are pretty conservative. A woman would think nothing walking up to you stark naked, say hello, and go about doing what she's doing. They have coffee shops where they smoke weed. Gay bars where men kiss each other openly at the entrance.

Aren't you the guy who are into religious stuff?

@sree251 I'm also into whimsical humour stuff! 😀

Apparently (I say "apparently" to emphasise that I myself would never frequent any such area.....😀 ) there is a district in Amsterdam where the ladies advertise their wares by sitting very visibly in open windows.

On this subject, when watching some Nordic noir thrillers we have often been called upon to say: "Doesn't anyone in Scandinavia have curtains in their windows".

It takes all sorts to make a world.

@SW-User There is nothing humorous about human degradation. We might think that other animals are uninhibited, have no moral order, indulge freely, eat whatever they like all day long, have sex whenever and wherever they want. We copy their perceived progressive lifestyle free of artificial inhibitions. This superior attitude among Europeans is upending social order in America.

Societies in nature are stable. Their respective ways of life are absolutely ordered. No ant or bee wanders off to find personal happiness.

@sree251 We can all have various ideas about what constitutes "degradation". Have a good day.

@sree251 As a European I can confirm. If walk around in underwear in my home all day. My boyfriend walks around naked. 😂
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Queendragonfly Is your home on the ground floor with the window opened to passersby walking on the sidewalk of the street? This is what I saw walking along the canals in Amsterdam.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@sree251 No. Amsterdam is more chill than Sweden regarding nudity, and drugs.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Queendragonfly Sweden is quite chill also. One time, I was visiting with a friend in Falun. His mom walked naked into the kitchen where we were having coffee to go out to the sauna outside the house. My friend didn't say a thing. Then, his father came through the kitchen stark naked also. He said hello and went out to the sauna also. I have never seen private parts displayed that way in my life. I am from Kansas. What's wrong with you people? Or do you think there is something wrong with us yanks?
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@sree251 Your friend gave up saying anything. 😂 His folksare free spirits. Boomer country side Swedes are not messing around. They have their own little world. Those oldies are the only ones who I occasionally find skinny dipping though. Nothing uncommon.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@sree251 I admit when I moved in with my boyfriend we were nude on the balcony a lot that first summer 😂 But no one saw, we have forest and trees there.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Queendragonfly Why do you need a boyfriend for?
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@sree251 Why not?
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Queendragonfly I don't know why not. If you were to ask me why I need a walking stick for, I would tell you the reason. I could have a weak leg and I need it for support when I walk; or it's a fashion accessory; or it's a deceptive self-defense weapon. So, why do you need a boyfriend for?

There is nothing humorous about human degradation

Or you just have no sense of humor. The only people who are uncomfortable with sex jokes or naked people are a minority in society who is taught to be ashamed for who they are or what they want.

I'm not ashamed of who I am or what I want. That's why I started dating my boyfriend. I simply wanted to be him. Hope this gives you some clarity.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@sree251 By the way. He's naked 95% of the time in our home. You should try it.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Queendragonfly No, I still am not clear why you want to be with a boyfriend. Some people want to be with their dogs or cats because they need comfort animals. Is your boyfriend your comfort animal?
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@sree251 Have you never had a boyfriend or girlfriend?
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Queendragonfly I live alone. I am naked 100% of the time in my home except when I am in the kitchen fixing a meal or cooking dinner. The kitchen is a workplace where accidents can happen. I put on my chef jacket, pants, and clogs.

@sree251 Hmm ok. Well. We people don't technically need a partner. We won't die if we're in solitude. I'm sure you feel great on your own.

It's more like you have several of your needs through one person. But that's not all. It's also about my need to get to give all my love to someone. And that someone share the values I have, we are sharing life and all life has to offer, together.

I'm also an extrovert so me being by myself would just mean I need company in some form. And I'm not interested in casual hook ups or flirts. I'm what the modern world calls Demisexual. If you don't know what that is, it's when someone's attraction is based on serious romantic feelings.

I also love to be someone's one and only. There's a special vulnerability and trust in that.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Queendragonfly Demisexual. Never heard of the word before. I just checked it out. Thanks for educating me. It's good that you are demisexual and don't sleep around indiscriminately.
