The perfect society will never exist.

@revenant Thanks for sharing.

Why do you think that is?
revenant · F
@ZulXeroth Human nature is imperfect and full of contradictions. I have never met any perfect little angel descended from the sky yet.

Imperfect people will make imperfect societies and will find a way of fukking up whatever they see as "perfect" anyway 😊

@revenant Ok, so what I’m interpreting here is that a better society leaves room for people to be imperfect? Maybe more help instead of punishment, perceived as deserved or not in either case?

@ZulXeroth Will you ever be able to eradicate greed and envy ? and the need for power and control ?
ZulXeroth · 31-35, M
@revenant optimistically I’d like to think so, but what I see in the world tells me otherwise.

That’s today though. Assuming humans still exist on earth in 1,000 years, who is to say?

On a more specific note, in the factors you presented, I think that the important question one must ask is “why do I feel that I need___?” I am by no means advocating for a world free of emotions or even just the eradication of one’s we perceive as negative-I think they’re perhaps how we understand ourselves as human more than anything else in the context of history-but what we can do is learn to understand our wants and needs and maybe make more conscious choices to do and be better.
@ZulXeroth Yeah right. Are you from this planet?

@MsSwan 👽

In all seriousness, it often doesn’t feel like it. I’m admittedly not a great fit on this rock. Too ND I guess.
ZulXeroth · 31-35, M
@MsSwan but I do think people CAN choose to do better, if even only for their own well being. Maybe that means therapy, maybe it means setting boundaries, whatever. Maybe there will be a time when people start to see that when each of us does better, we can all do better. Maybe there will be a time that people will stop treating each other as products or services and instead value each other as humans with their own thoughts and experiences, joys and sorrows.
@ZulXeroth The problem is that there's too many people who lack the mental and emotional capacity to even comprehend what you're suggesting.
ZulXeroth · 31-35, M
@MsSwan do you believe it can’t be learned?
@ZulXeroth Anything is possible, but humanity has a very long long way to go. Maybe when there's no such thing as third world countries. We have to take one step at a time.
ZulXeroth · 31-35, M
@MsSwan I see what you mean. Even to get there, there are many steps.
revenant · F
@ZulXeroth Therapy is not objective anyway. What kind of therapy ? according to whom ? and to follow who's ideas too ?

I know there are people out there who dream of perfect societies where everyone is equal but this will not be achieved till human beings are married and blended with machines.

And the later ? yes some actually do believe it would be for the best.
ZulXeroth · 31-35, M
@revenant right, therapy is more or less a place to work through your experience, how could it ever be objective? My belief is that you’re to be following your own ideas, a therapist is mostly just there to ask you questions that might help you dig a little deeper.
revenant · F
@ZulXeroth Therapy is not hard science, there are many different schools of thoughts and those evolve and change with time. Therapy is biased and can be corrupted.
Anybody not agreeing with the consensus can be deemed crazy or irrational as history showed.
Values will never be universal.
