Lets say that you make three million dollars a year. Ever since you gave your son money hes been slacking in college and wants to drop out, quit his job, and get an appattment.

Maybe its the fact he grew up in a home making 3m a year and he feels like hes entitled. Maybe if he had to earn his own money for his schooling and things he woukd have more appreciation for knowledge and wealth. Otherwise he might view money as if it just comes out of a machine for free and working for it is optional.

this is why many wealthy ppl don't let the kids access their trust till they prove their worth

You can't really force him to go to school or apply himself even if the is there. No more free room and board if he is not in school. That was the rule with me growing up.

It is his choice as an adult. Your choice is whether you support him financially. I would not.

you ever see the movie Dead Poet Society ?

Why would you quit your job and then get an apartment? 🤔
RoxClymer · 41-45, M
@DDonde quit a soul-sucking current job for a job and apt you like better
DDonde · 31-35, M
@RoxClymer Yeah but you need a new job first before you get an apartment.

Quit giving him money and let him support himself. If he wants to leave college, his choice but also his responsibility to take care of himself.
I wouldn't have started handing out money in the first place.
