Wow. Wouldn't want to inconvenience his Excellency.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Well, I don't think it is too much to ask for people to practice good hygiene if they want to in mainstream society. And, I don't think I should be put in a position where it is uncomfortable to use the facilities, including the washroom, due to unkempt people.
As a community activist and public figure of sorts, I am not so fragile as to think homeless people don't have a right to exist. But, what I was forced to experience was traumatic. And, you lack of compassion for what I went though is literally astounding.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Oh... and thanks for trying to paint me in a light of entitled arrogance which doesn't apply. It only proves my point is you are biased against me for my areas of expertise which, for some reason, you find intimidating.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@MarkPaul I did because your entire post is entitled, and arrogant and devoid of basic compassion. Full of your usual narcissism though.
And you have no areas of expertise to be envious of. Again you use the incorrect words which is odd for someone constantly claiming to be a journalism and yet basic English seems to challenge you.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'm sick of your subtle implied conspiracies about me. And, I explained how traumatizing it was to be confronted with the smell of homelessness in a public space where it is not expected. I didn't chase the guy out or call for his removal. Instead, I suffered through the inconvenience of his presence. It's predictable that didn't show up on your radar though.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@MarkPaul No conspiracies. Just facts. I am sorry you cannot handle the real world and truth.
And traumatizing? You were an arrogant prick trash talking homeless people and you think you are the victim.
Then again they say narcissists are incapable of empathy.
And no, you took the cowardly route and trash talked about them on the internet and now are claiming you are the one who was hard done by.
Just wow. You sound like a cliche of a feudal aristocrat whining and complaining about the peasants.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Well, I don't think that is what this is about at all. I just don't expect to go out in public to be confronted with a situation like this in a place where things like this should not happen. You can't just suddenly decide to squash this social issue (homelessness) in with mainstream society and expect everyone to just go about their business as if everything is normal. I don't want to see someone washing their clothes in the sink. I can assure you no matter what, I will never use that one sink ever again.
As a community activist and trained sociologist, I want to help with solving the homeless problem. This just isn't the way to do it. And, I'm not acting like some kind of aristocrat with no real-world training. In fact, I understand the world from a "street level" perspective. I think that's clear from my style of journalism.

@MarkPaul It is cute you are now pretending your care about homeless people and then double down on disparaging and talking down about them. What an arrogant ass.
And more self aggrandizing lies nobody actually believes from you. You have no interest in the homeless. And you are behaving exactly like a stereotypical aristocrat. You also sound like you have never set foot outside a gated community.
And you are definitely no journalist or sociologist or whatever other random titles you have decided to give yourself today.
Based on your behavior, politics, and views you are most likely some rich guy's fail son who is desperate for outside validation and zero understanding of how the real world works.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow This is highly insulting and actually transcends all the insulting and slanderous things you have said about me in the past. I have earned everything on my own and I know the real-world from a practical viewpoint. I don't stand on theories, ideology, and fanboy platitudes like you.
I am invested in solving the homeless problem as one of my pet projects. But, true to form, unlike you I don't want to just throw public money at a problem (tuition aid handouts), or just throw people into the public's way (homeless people thrown into mainstream society). And, you call me displaying the behaviour of an aristocrat? How dare you!
Is there nothing you won't do to push yourself into the centre of things even it means presenting yourself as the court jester? I am raising a social issue for the express purpose of solving it. And, all you can do is seek for a way to move the goal post to attack the content of my character. And, I think that stinks... just like that homeless guy. No offense (to that homeless guy).

@MarkPaul It is accurate. If truth insults you maybe against all hope that might lead to self reflection from you but I doubt it.
And you are all platitudes and bullshit right wing ideology. So more lies.
And more lies. You don't give a shit about the homeless as long as they don't inconvenience delusional arrogant narcissists like you. God forbid you should mingle with the poors.
And your irrelevant tangent about public money is just another right wing ideological cliche and irrelevant to the topic of this discussion.
Again, you are the one so self centered you think you are some sort of feudal lord. Again, you desperately blame everyone else for your garbage behavior.
You raised nothing except how his lordship was inconvenienced by the homeless.
And good job doubling down on denigrating the poor and homeless. And you absolutely intended to offend them. Don't pretend otherwise, it is very cowardly.
Have fun in your ivory tower.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow OMG. Ivory tower? I have field training. I'm on the front line and in the trenches. What are you doing? Posting on the Internet? My behaviour shows that I am interested in a wide range of topics and social issues. Contrast that with you who is only interested in committing slander on a consistent basis.
I am the furthest thing from being obsessed with being in the centre of things. I share my knowledge, insights, and hard-fought experience for the benefit of others without trying to solicit credit. I don't berate people for their opinions. That is what you do. You have literally 0.0 self-awareness.
I was sharing my honest assessment of a truly traumatic social experience and showcased how I graciously handled the situation without creating a scene. I doubt you would have had the self-discipline to do the same in a similar situation.

@MarkPaul Field training? Lol. More lies. You are none of those things. You just cannot stop lying. Dude all you do is lie on the internet. And more lies. You are completely disconnected from the real world. And your behaviors is that of a right wing trust fund baby. You make Paris Hilton look worldly and street smart.
Actually being the centre of attention and totally self absorbed is your entire personality. You clearly have worked for nothing, you have no insights and no experience. And again you blame me for your shit personality.
You were sharing how an arrogant prick felt inconvenienced by homeless people having the audacity to exist in your presence.
And to call your arrogance trauma is just gross.
And cowardice is not gracious or self discipline.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Well you are just twisting my slice-of-life event into your contrived narrative of arrogance, entitlement, and aristocracy (of all crazy things). I'm not buying it.
Maybe you like being unexpectedly confronted with the stench of homelessness in a place where it does not belong with someone washing their clothes in a sink not designed for that kind of activity at a place where that kind of thing should not take place. But, with all the daily pressure I am under I think I have a right to expect a respite from the daily tensions of deadlines, scheduling conflicts, and competing demands for my attention.
In any case, my point is there is a solution to the homeless problem, but it's not trying to throw people with poor hygiene into a place where they probably don't even feel comfortable. There could be designated stations for them to wash their hands and clothes.
