Any other vets wish they would have died overseas

I lost a lot of friends but was always lucky. I made it and they didn't. I feel that some of them would have done something with their life while I have not.
It all depends on how you define "Success". Sometimes, success can be as simple as making it through another day - or as complex as doing a once in a lifetime experience.

Just getting up, living the best you can day to day, IS doing something with your life. Please dont get sucked into what title you have, amount of money you make, and jobs/status etc. Those are not WHO we are...how we react or treat someone in the present, or feeling the connection with others is who we are. One of my favorite authors Byron Katie, says Did they die? Can you KNOW its true? ...no , because they are there with us, talking to us, their spirit, memory, etc. THeir physical shell left but THEY did not die🌼🦋🐦

You have half a century in front of you. You can still do something with your life.

@Persabul I nearly managed to respond to the reply you deleted. I was going to say that the point is to make your little part of it slightly better. Don't let yourself be discouraged because you can't make it perfect.

A life is more than just the sum of your achievements. Furthermore, your friends at best would be sat in your place feeling the same way about you if you'd have died. Your death serves nobody well and you have a right to life just as they did.
In recognising that, cant you change it?
