This was a big issue after 9/11 2001. At that time, I was in favor of allowing our national security people to spy on domestic terrorists, or terrorists in general.

NOW our new totalitarian/authoritarian government wants to weaponize the IRS and allow them to peek into our bank accounts just as they did so that the Democrats could persecute the Teaparty people.

You can't open the tent just a crack and allow the camel's nose to enter the tent...because soon you will have the WHOLE camel.
i would need specifics to answer this question accurately. my short answer is Yes, as long as it is used for legal purposes only. there are just too many people on earth to keep track of.
