@irishmolly72 same in my city, the mayor and her minion city council did it here. They invited BLM to the city hall at night and let them stage a protest, gave no advance notice to the citizens and then took a vote quickly Commie-style (no citizen input allowed) to defund our police department by nearly $1 million, which resulted in 8 police jobs being cut and more police retiring early or transferring to the next city. It costs about $200,000 to train new officers at a police academy. The mayor’s solution was to hire “social workers” to pick up slack. There is a homeless problem in this city, including a sizable meth camp living in a wooded area. Crimes have increased, there was a triple shooting this past month involving homeless (1 died as a result), arrests increasing due to public drug use & violence, warrants being served at the shelters. Those who have been banned from the shelters are still living here in woods, spreading human waste and costing the city a great deal of money to clean up camps. ($50,000 at one site within the city and hauling away 17 tons of waste). Social workers identified 18 people living in that site and offered to help them get on a housing list and help them get their paperwork (birth certificates, Social Security cards, ID cards) so that they can get on the list and about 40% are refusing to do even that. A few days ago the person hired in charge of housing the homeless quit the job and two others working in that dept also resigned. This city has a mess on it’s hands.

@cherokeepatti Thanks for your thoughtful post. We can never give up on caring about people of all creeds and colors. But it's because we DO care that we need to point out the literally fatal hypocrisy of the BLM/ANTIFA anti-police stance.

I think that black people are finally coming around to the realization that ANTIFA demagogues are not really on their side at all. Now, let's all try to think of ways to move forward.

@markansas I have some experience with New Jersey - my car broke down once right in front a business featured on that show. Never saw that sort of thing there - bribes at the arena, limo drivers writing in their own tips, etc.
