Facts that help prove my personal case that our criminal justice system is flawed & corrupt.
(1) Three Strikes
Perpetually damning petty criminals to life
(2) Trial Tax
You’re innocent and want to fight your case instead of taking a plea deal? If you lose, the punishment will be tougher because the system wants to punish you for exercising your rights.
(3) Biased Judges
More willing to believe police account vs. defendant story
(4) Wealth Lottery
Get Out of Jail Free Card
(5) Counterproductive Incentives
There are more incentives in place to keep people in jail than there are incentives to rehabilitate them or reform them.
(6) It's an undeniable fact that, unfortunately, the people who run and establish the criminal justice system in the US specifically are imperfect human beings who are attempting to bring a "balanced foundation of security and world peace" to which they have no control over whether they want to believe or not. (My opinion)

@ChocoKing305 Really well said & I agree fully.
It is. They are hiding behind their job. These people are destroying the justice system.

Rittenhouse, Trump, several cops and others never should have been tried.

the Criminal Justice system like democracy - democracy is the worst form of government – except for all the others that have been tried.
Corruption is another matter. Here (Aus) its not really regarded as corrupt.

@ButterRobot would you prefer a dictatorship? To be honest I don't trust any government just now.
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
@Cutiepi23 i think there is something to be said for benevolent dictatorship...But all power corrupts.

@ButterRobot
Absolutely.
Absolutely.

Unfortunately, I do, to a large extent. In my country remaining free with law enforcement and staying alive with healthcare are predicated upon one’s ability to pay. In both cases it’s your money or your life.
@bijouxbroussard yeah I think your right!

The Criminal Injustice System has been broken since forever. Just take a look at the amount of innocent people that have been exonerated by the Innocence Project:
What I particularly like to point out is the varying degrees of cowardice that different state/federal/private prison systems show after they're proven wrong in court but then go run and hide from awarding millions of dollars in compensation to acquitted convicts who rightfully deserve it.

As of January 2020, the Innocence Project has documented over 365 DNA exonerations in the United States. Twenty-one of these exonerees had previously been sentenced to death.
The vast majority (97%) of these people were wrongfully convicted of committing sexual assault and/or murder. Although these individuals were innocent of these crimes, approximately 25% had confessed and 11% had pleaded guilty. These exonerees spent an average of 14 years in prison–10% of whom spent 25 years or more in prison for crimes they didn’t commit.*

This answer is for Australia
Lets start with the judges - they are completely out of touch with the common person who walks the street
Lawyers - no more than a glorified hooker, a poor person will be lumbered with a public defender
Media - will convict an innocent person as long as they can get a story regardless of the truth
Media are very selective which crime they will report on
Police have a very difficult job, I am not saying that they are perfect at all and the courts let them down

Where I live? Not really. It's definitely flawed but I don't think it is corrupt.

Yes corruption is omnipresent in our justice system. Literally everywhere, with the juries being the worst. We have proved our insanity with Trump, how could a jury of my peers ever be trusted? They can't.. we should go to 3 judges unanimously agree or not guilty. I have absolutely zero faith or trust in my peers.. but yes, it's flawed and corrupt just the way most of us creeps and crazies like it..
Elevatorpitches · F
yes it is😣
Yeah it is, how the fuck can a pedo only do a couple of years and they get special protection just like dogs (police informers),
But yet we cheat a couple hundred dollars tax from the government or their monopoly buddies, they would lock us up and throw the key away.
How is that justice?

@BalladOfADeadSoulja its not justice but i dont believe pedos have an easy life in jail. They kill themselves they are raped & they dont get protection. Thats why a lot of sex offenders commit suicide in jail.
