I received 4 "Flubot" scam messages today.

At 4.35 am, 7.31 am, 8.16 am and 8.35 am.
A new scam known as "Flubot" is sending thousands of text messages to Australians as they wait anxiously for updates on COVID tests and vaccination appointments.
Telstra cybersecurity expert Darren Pauli says the aim is to get recipients to download a malicious app.

"It will try to convince you to download the app and from there it will have access to your information and banking credentials."

Not this Tasmanian.

That's awful. Scammers will exploit anything.

@LadyBronte Vulnerable people get suckered in as well.🥺

@Gusman It's the vulnerable they prey on. Glad you weren't one of them. Good luck through this pandemic, Gusman. Stay well. Stay safe.

@LadyBronte Thank You.
Western Australia is free of Covid. We are living a normal life, the only requirement is to sign in where ever we go, for contact tracing purposes if a Covid case did arise.

@Gusman I'm so glad to hear that - I've heard things are getting back near Sydney though. Is that correct?

@LadyBronte Sydney has lost the Plot.
They are going into lockdown until the end of September.
Daily infections are rising, 644 new cases today.
The Delta Variant is running amok

@Gusman That's rough. I really do hate to hear that. This is such a mess. For everyone everywhere. My prayers are with everyone affected. I know what it's like - I've already lost too many people to it. Nearly lost a few others. I don't wish it on anyone.
