YouTube Ads - yes, I’m a peasant and so are you
YouTube is the only “platform” I use regularly.
I don’t pay for Premium anymore.
Today, a new-to-me ad. It’s not clear whether he is selling or just admiring Korean umbrellas. I have no problem with foreign goods that are superior to American ones. I feel no commercial loyalty.
This guy displays a flock of umbrellas in an array of colors. He demonstrates how outrageous it is to own a self-opening umbrella that YOU HAVE TO CLOSE YOURSELF. He says, “What are you, a f****** peasant?”
If you’re hawking umbrellas on YouTube, you aren’t royalty, honey.
THEN, he says, “I don’t know what colors are available. Check yourself.” This helps explain why he’s appalled at the notion of closing his own umbrella.
YouTube is a treasury of inept, badly written, rude and abusive advertisements.
Once upon a time, children, advertisers trying to weasel money out of you did their best to flatter you in the process. We understood they were ripping us off, but they were at least courteous.
Brave New World, my foot.
