Yeah I mean I can only think of two reasons for the death..
1: he had something extremely wrong with him and panicked thinking maybe if he bathed it would fix it but by then it was too late..
2: the bathing itself was dangerous because it activated more Dormant bacteria into life and allowed it to reach more absorbent parts of the body..
Nothing else really makes sense to me..
