I came upon this video on FB today and it infuriates me.
The pretence to this demonstration is false.
It is based on assuming that immigration is a choice by the hosting country, a policy whose sole purpose is to solve poverty.
But it isn't. Immigration is a fact of life, it has always existed and will always exist.
Immigration is driven by the immigrants themselves, not by the hosting nations.
We welcome immigrants because we need them or because we are generous, but not to solve world poverty. Also it assumes that immigrants always stay in the country they move into, which again is untrue.
Many immigrants will go back home, having saved money, or studied.
There is nothing wrong with immigration, immigrants are not parasites.
They for most make a great contribution to the hosting country.
