I Do Not Like Google Plus Youtube Comment Merge

WTF Google?!... I've had a YouTube channel since I was young enough to be restricted from age restricted videos. I lied about my age of course, and said I was born in 1985 instead of the more truthful 1990. Then, when I turned 18, I went back to change my birthday to the real year and found that it was already done. I briefly wondered how that was possible, and then moved on with my life. In fall of 2011, I enrolled in a community college. This particular college communicates through Google. But, instead of utilizing the traditional @gmail.com e-mail account, all the students are required to sign up for a @smail.pcd.edu account. So, now that I have 2 Google e-mail accounts, I closed my old one which was generated when Youtube and Google first merged together, and deleted everything associated with it, leaving me with just the @smail account. Everything was fine...for a short time. Then I began to develop a habit of looking up reviews of restaurants before going to them, so that I knew what I was getting myself into. It was not long before I wanted to write my own reviews of restaurants I have been to. When I tried this, I found that I needed to first create a google+ account. Google doesn't recognize smail as a valid google account. I moved on. Reviews aren't critical. Maybe someone else would write how I felt later on. Then came the big one. Now I need a google+ account to comment on a youtube video, any youtube video. Before this massive change occurred, I didn't mind not being able to obtain a google+ account. I didn't care. But now, it's become a problem. Sure, I could make a new gmail account, but why should I? Why should I create an @gmail.com account when I already have a fully functional gmail inbox, even if it does have a different suffix? This is discrimination beyond anything I could've ever dreamed. Why can't google get their sh!+ together? They can do everything outside of controlling the actual weather, but they can't be bothered to integrate other gmail accounts into their system?! I call bullsh!+ on this.
