The transphobic agenda is intensifying. Elon Musk has made it clear that anyone using the scientifically accurate term cisgender is in violation.

So much for him turning Twitter into a free speech outlet.

@LeopoldBloom why is Twitter even still relevant these days?
@LeopoldBloom his speech outlet.
Belladonna · 41-45, F
@DarkHeaven His speech toilet.
@Belladonna yeah 😔
@CestManan It's relevant because it's still a popular site with no real competition. And despite the proliferation of neo-Nazis and other undesirables, it's still a great place to get immediate reports from journalists with relatively little censorship. If you want to find out what's happening right now with a breaking news story, you go to Twitter. Of course, that means the information could be biased or even wrong, but that's still the only place to get it.

I'm hoping BlueSky takes off and more people move over there when it's open to the public.

@LeopoldBloom I'm sure Blue Sky will be just as big of a shit show as Twitter eventually
@LeopoldBloom that would be good.
@LeopoldBloom the blue sky thing I mean.
@CestManan People on it now say it's like Twitter was in the beginning - stuff like "hi, I'm getting a cup of coffee at Starbucks now!" and other innocent stuff.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@LeopoldBloom Yeah but eventually big tech will get ahold of it if it looks promising and we know what happens at that point.

I have been on twitter only a few times but I am more of a fan of smaller forums.
I mean SW is "big" for the hole-in-the-wall places but still small.
@CestManan Unfortunately that's true. Facebook was great when I got on it in 2008 but around 2017 it really deteriorated to the point where it's useless now. So BlueSky should have a few good years when it takes off.
