As far as "cis", it is mostly the transphobes who hate that word. They call trans "men" and "you are the gender you were born" or "groomer" or "tranny" but then they hear that ONE little word "cis" that is not and was not meant to be offensive and they get upset.
At one time "cis" was "genetic female" or "genetic male", I wonder if the transphobes would be upset by those terms.

@CestManan Yep. The people getting their panties in a bunch over "cis" are the same ones who get upset when they see someone's email that is signed "John Smith (he/him)." I was just at a large meeting for work and as a presenter, I was instructed to give my name, office, pronouns, and a brief description ("white male, six feet tall, bald, wearing a white shirt with a blue tie").

@LeopoldBloom I just think sometimes there is way too much focus on things that affect only a small part of society. I am not against it as I am LGBT myself but it just seems like everything is blown out of proportion.

@CestManan I think they asked everyone to describe themselves for the benefit of one blind guy. Although, I'm sure if they'd asked him, he wouldn't have cared how the speakers were dressed.
