anyone else use X Twitter? is it worth paying monthly for 'premium'

i joined twitter in 2011 sometime, but hardly ever used it or logged in, i just reactivated my account after not logging in for a long long time, edited my account there and updated my details...but saw a message on my profile about ' get verified'? then i clicked on that and a page appears about paying monthly to use it with many added benefits, you can choose 9 pounds something a month or 36 pounds something a month.....when i first joined long ago, you never had to pay back then for better features....so just wondered what i should do?

With the exception of LinkedIn, this is my only social media app I use anymore.

@SumKindaMunster i've heard of Linkedln, i heard it was for people in businesses or professional people? i don't really know much about it.. can i ask why you choose not to use twitter or X? just interested in your views about it.

@durinsBane1983 I'm old, and can remember being on the internet talking to people on ICQ or news groups and it was a delightful experience.

Fast forward to the mid 2000's and the smart phone revolution, and now everyone has a social media account and wants to spew their opinions, beliefs, and perversions everywhere.

I find the level of discourse annoying.

In addition, I am Conserative/Right wing and social media HATES right wingers and goes after them when they show up on sites like Reddit, BlueSky, Substack, etc.

So I pretty much just use this site, as it is too small to discriminate against Conservatives, and LinkedIn, since that is a job networking site, and I may need it at some point in the future.

@SumKindaMunster on right wingers, i've heard of a few who call themselves ' right wingers' on twitter? i'm not able to remember their names but remember watching something from my subscriptions on youtube where they mentioned right wingers on twitter,...

i tried reddit years ago, but wouldn't function for me, i couldn't even post anything, so not sure if i was being censored or what, but quickly moved on from that, ive heard of bluesky , substack but never used them...i define myself as 'patriotic' of where i'm from, but not sure if i would identify as ' right wing '? how would you define being right wing?

@durinsBane1983 Rightwing Conservative typically supports tradition, merit, nationalism, and opposes change to the existing order. Keeping things the same, or going back to old traditions or ideas are hallmarks of conservatism and being on the right wing.

It opposes significant social change like removing the difference between men and women, or importing a lot of people from outside the country who don't share traditional values.

@SumKindaMunster thanks for explaining, i never really understood it's real meaning, and given your explanation i'd say i am 'right wing' also, the things you listed are all what i stand for.
