When someone friends you can you make it so you can decline them and don't let them fallow you either.

The only way to prevent them from seeing your content is to block them. There is however no use use in blocking people and unblocking them just to remove them from your list as followers as they would still have the exact same options to interact with you if they don't follow you.

Why should the be a following option if I don't want them as a friend why would I want them be following me. Blocking people is to much of an hassle

@WindMachine: Following is an option so you can customize your homepage to see content you're the most interested in. It does not affect the person being followed in any way, which is why approval or acceptance is not necessary.
