Once a site starts pushing ads, regardless of how the ads are pushed, the business model is no longer sustainable. It should not depend on or require ad viewing and/or 'click-throughs' (clicking on the ads to be re-directed) for sustainability.
Look at FB, Youtube, etc. for examples of where sites are now defined by ad revenue above everything else to generate profits and satiate the desperation of investors for shareholders returns.
