Why does buying VIP require you to have mobile number?

That makes no sense to me. Why can't people just have privacy and not be tracked like some dog with microchip implant!

How could I possibly buy VIP without revealing my personal data? I mean I'd have to make a money transfer, right? How could that be done anonymously?
