Thank you for posting this.
I agree, there are too many negative people on SW. I have always said, if you don't agree with a post, scroll on by.
Or, state your opinion without being negative, easily done.

Blocking definitely helps. I’ve been blocking more people who I see being nasty/offensive towards others and that’s made my experience here much more positive.
