That's the whole difference between chatting and messaging. Chatting only results in pointless arguments as both parties become impatient, as they get nowhere with one liners.
Messaging is like email, where one has to write atleast a paragraph and write wholesomely allowing other party adequate time to read understand and respond. For your age you must have known the snail mail postal days when people wait for months to get a response and phone calls being expensive.
It's the technology that has rendered the new generation impatient.
Also everyone has many others to attend.
So write as much in a single message and look for reply at least after half hour. Don't insist on people to be online whenever you are.
