It is interesting chatting with SWeeps who have a fictional persona and stick to it.

However, I think it would only be fair to have a label for "alt" accounts. There could be a pretty logo, and it could link to standard information, something like: "this is a fictional persona. Photos are not me. On this account, I am always in character."

Cause otherwise, deliberately or not, having an alt account can turn into catfishing. 🐱🐠

PS - I think it is hilarious that my spellchecker does not recognize the word "catfishing". What internet do you live on, spellchecker?

But would people abide by it?

@sarabee1995 On SW....is this the joke of the day? They would then need an Alt account for their Alt account it would never end.

@sarabee1995 well the actual catfish would not. But I am optimistically thinking that most people with different personas here are not actual catfish.

@KiwiBird Yup!

@SW-User Hmmm... Idk. For most of the people I've known here or back on EP with alt accounts or personas, the "reveal" was emotional and filled with drama. I think for most of them being "known" as an alt would ruin the experience for them.

@sarabee1995 idk! I've been through that from the "revealing" side in an account that was clearly indicated as an alt. The emotion and drama was about unveiling the "real" me rather than staying within the persona. But I was never pretending that the persona was the "real" me.

@SW-User You and I have had many conversations about this over the years that we've been in touch. I think both our opinions on the subject have morphed with time. 🙂

@sarabee1995 I do enjoy morphing with you ☺️
