Can we have a feature where we can comment only for the poster to be able to view the comment?
or perhaps the poster and our friends only?

Sometimes we just want to share our thoughts and positive vibes without the peanut gallery having a go at us.

Imagine all the perverts that use this to bypass community flagging. But hey, same applies to PMs and private gifts and private posts..

@Miram I would prefer to imagine all the introverted, or the hesitant, or the shy, or those lacking self confidence, to use this to realizing the value of their thoughts/views without prejudice.

@Eidolon

That'd make about five members on the site.
Eidolon · M
@Miram If it's going to help 5 feel safer, then still worth it.
But hey that's just me lending my pair of eyes for anyone willing to see through them...

@Eidolon

I get your point. Unfortunately, like other similar features that are accessible, it can be both good and bad. It can also makes others who are being harassed by the creeps feel unsafe including me.

I would support such feature if I didn't already have bad experiences.
Eidolon · M
@Miram Being that you're still here... I would like to believe that your good experiences outweighed your bad experiences. For if I were in a position where the bad exceeded the good, I would have discontinued being here altogether.

Hope for the best, block the rest.

@Eidolon

Ha. I think I have better judgement about how the features specifically affected me. And what's best to do to help myself. The site is more than those features alone.

Also, blocking has its limitations. Limited block count, unlimited profiles' creation.

@Miram agreed, this would be a disaster.

We have PM and if a user decides not to reply then move on.

@iamonfire696 I wonder too what is the difference between just pm such confidential comment and having the option on public thread.

And then I remembered the minors' accounts restrictions.

Some of us put so much efforts to make this place safer. It would suck to find ourselves doing tripple the work in the future.

Or worse, less options to take actions.

@Miram I completely agree with you. Maybe the intention is to get the OP to see the comment without anyone else seeing it because I would assume there would be no limit on private comments.

You can only send someone 2 PM’s before it’s up to the other party to reply before you can send more.

I don’t think minors should be allowed here period but that’s another topic.
Miram · 31-35, F
@iamonfire696 certainly.

I wish more parents were monitoring their kids internet activity
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Miram I do too. The internet is a scary place for kids.
