I Have a Suggestion for Similar Worlds

Notifications. At the moment the only notifications I get are of additions to threads to which I have contributed. I get no notifications of new stories in groups of which I am a member, nor of new activity by members of my circle. This means a lot of manual searching if I want to keep up. It would be very helpful if the notification facility could be expanded.

Two solutions for this are already planned: notifications will be grouped by story so you don't receive as many, and you'll be able to let the homepage only show content from groups you joined and people in your circle. Notifications for group and friend activity aren't planned, but the new homepage should be sufficient for this.

Thank you for your reply Gentle 153. However: a) you say I'll be able to let the homepage "only" show content from groups I joined and people in my circle. At the moment it doesn't show these things at all, unless I'm missing something; b) I would like more notifications, not fewer.

This is indeed not possible yet, but it is in the planning. Hence "you will be able to" rather than "you are able to". If you still feel the need for notifications about these when all this content is collected on one page, feel free to request it again, but let's see how that works out first. :)

Absolutely. There is so much on this site that I do not want to see from a few people who take up a good deal of space and no way of knowing what my friends are saying and what is being added to my groups. EP was a much better site than this.
