What should these buttons do? Both are already possible simply by supplying a link. In what way would you like it to be easier?

@Trammy: when you click the image button (the one on the far left), there is a tab called insert video. Paste the YouTube link in the dialog and save. 🙂 And gifs can be added on the URL link tab.
