I Have a Suggestion for Similar Worlds

Will this site ever improve?. Become more up to date, modern and more usable for a wider audience?. My suggestion, get a good app going for mobiles, enable links to other social medias etc. I just feel like whenever I'm on here, it's outdated and stale... am I the only one?.

@YukikoAmagi It kind of has an app already but I guess to access easier?
@SW-User [c=#359E00]it's already easy this way[/c]

@YukikoAmagi

1)browser consumes more battery power.

2) lots of people use adblock even on mobile so site losing on revenue

3) easier to access.
@midnightsun [c=#359E00]i agree with point 1[/c]

@YukikoAmagi you don't understand point 2?

In general it's statistically expected that 35% of users use adblock.

They missing out on revenue. Which is one way to keep the site running.
@midnightsun [c=#359E00]i understand, but i'm not really into business thingy[/c] 😅

Maybe for the iPhone users it would be nice to have something pop up that says we have a message or notification but other than that I don’t know.@YukikoAmagi

@YukikoAmagi browser uses more data, Notifications are pretty bad, every time have to reload to get a new message or new notifications.
@Keepitsimple [c=#359E00]i use Samsung and Mito, no pop up when i got message or notification, but i'm already happy with it[/c] 😁

@midnightsun I think the app won't be so much better. EP tried it and I would have rather been in the site to be honest.

Plus, if it's for revenue, the app will be loaded with ads making people want to use the site anyway.
midnightsun · 26-30, M
@SW-User that's an interesting concept. Facebook and YouTube both tried it.

People seek comfort over some ad. It's proven.
SW-User
@midnightsun This isn't either one of those. I don't expect it to be.

So comparing SW to the likes of FB, YouTube, Instagram, is kind of worthless because that's not what the site is nor does it have the revenue the others have.

I'm actually quite happy with how it is at the moment minus a few things but an app isn't going to make it better.

Humm... that totally depends on how the apps are made. I gave up using most apps, and instead use the Browser mobile website, for many services, because their apps use more battery than simply using their websites.
2) lots of people use adblock even on mobile so site losing on revenue
We would lose a lot more in revenue if we had a native app, because of the terms of Google Play and Apple Store.
3) easier to access.
You can install Similar Worlds on Homescreen and even activate Push Notifications.

Hey Nuno...any chance of the iPhone getting push notifications at all? That would probably cut out a lot of the questions regarding an app. Is it too difficult to do that? Just curious...thank you!@Nuno

@Keepitsimple Unfortunately, we are limited to what iPhone provides. Unfortunately, iOS is very slow in implementing these modern technologies that other systems have already implemented.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
Oh ok, I didn’t know that. That explains it. I’m not complaining because I know you would do what is available for us. 👍@Nuno
